About The Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC3)

The Internet and Computing Core Certification developed by Certiport Incorporation (USA) is the first globally accepted, standards-based, validated certification program for basic computing skills. Becoming IC3 certified demonstrates that one possesses the knowledge required for basic use of computer hardware, software, and the Internet which are nowadays prerequisites for virtually every placement opportunity.
The IC3 certificate as a starting milestone in the ICT education roadmap is also a stepping stone for more advanced ICT certification for career advancement as well as meeting Government’s objective of increasing the number of persons with specialised IT skills to boost the ICT industry.

The IC3 course comprises three core modules:-
.>> Computing Fundamentals
.>> Key Applications (Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Slide Presentation)
.>> Living Online
The 45-hour training is delivered in the computer labs of State Secondary Schools around the island and nine time table options are available. A Certificate of Attendance is awarded to all participants who complete at least 41 hours of the course.

IC3 Certification by Certiport Inc. (USA) is also available through online examinations conducted at our testing centre, the University of Mauritius. The IC3 certificate which is issued by Certiport is awarded after the participant passes three online tests for the three modules.
